Oman Research and Education Network (OMREN) recently participated in APAN48 held in Malaysia from 22 - 26 July 2019, attracted over 350 participant from across the Asia Pacific region and further afield. APAN48 contains variety of events lasting for 5 days, including technical tutorials, workshops and documentations covering brand-new and advanced network technologies and applications.

we are pleased to announce that the ministry of manpower & 16 academic & vocational institutions under the ministry umbrella are now official members of Oman Research and Education Network - OMREN, to will enhance the process of research and education in oman.
Oman research and Education network participated for GHEDEX 2019, the Global Higher Education Exhibition, held on 16 -18 April at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center. The participation comes to enhance communication, exchange ideas and introduce OMREN services to the research and education society, among diverse participants from local and international higher education institutions.

OMREN Participation in EduTrack 28 to 30 October 2018
OMREN members are invited to attend the technical training workshop on how to configure the network, eduGain and eduroam. The workshop was specially provided to the technical IT members, who are working on configuring the connection to OMREN Federation, eduGain and eduroam at each university and college.
Sultan Qaboos University the core member of OMREN has deployed and activated eduroam service in the campus. Eduroam is an international roaming service provided to education and research users.
