The conference was organized by Arab States Research and Education Network (ASREN), which was on 11-12 December 2019 at Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The conference was hosted by the UAE’s Advanced National Research and Education Network (Ankabut). And the main theme was “GROUNDBREAKING RESEARCH AND EDUCATION NETWORKS”
The conference witnessed the participation of many international networks of scientific research and education and many of the interested scientists and academics from the research and education sector.
nearly a hundred speaker from forty countries attended the event. members of the board members and management of the research networks, experts and specialists in the sector, technical & communication teams.
OMREN team participation Included a panel discussion handled by Dr. AbdulMonem Ali Al-Kharusi the director of OMREN, where they discussed the topics of various services, Offered by New York University, Abu Dhabi. Where Professor Ibrahim Fathi, professor of artificial intelligence also presented his research into advanced search engines for Arabic texts.
Mrs.Warda Sarhan Al-Habsi the applications Manager in OMREN was honored to receive an award in the event for efforts in supporting of networks in the Arab region
following the conference OMREN team had the pleasure of visiting New York University in Abu Dhabi to meet Dr. Moataz Albarwani (responsible for High performance Computing), to check the latest technologies applied by the university.
It should be noted that OMREN aims to participate in such event to enable the collaborations with other NRENs and partners, also to spread awareness and share success stories and benefit from others experience to enhance the research and education experience in Oman.
